ABOUT

The History of the Valley Rangers

Valley Rangers football club was establised in 2001 by Howard Archard, Heather McLeod, Andy and Ria Green and David and Tammy Pengelly and Peter Deschamps. The Club was formed to support the children and adults in the Mary Valley so they could have a club in 'the country'.

Based at the Kandanga soccer fields and Cooloola Christian College Ovals in Gympie the club started with 174 members for their first season and then grew as the years went by. In 2010, Valley Rangers reached the second largest club in the Gympie Football region.

Boasting many accomplishments, the club is known for it's team efforts, family orientated spirit and for the quality of junior players coming through the ranks. In 2009 and 2010, Valley Rangers where bestowed the honour of 'Wide Bay's most representative players' in the Gympie competition.

The club has grown from hosting 2 sites, Kandanga and Gympie CCC ovals to now hosting 3 sites, securing ovals at One Mile for their competition players to train on.

The Valley Rangers rely soley on the work of volunteers in the community to run the club and to coach our children and to run fundraisers throughout the season to build the club up to what it is today.

Live music or DJ's every Friday and Saturday

Dinner, music, dancing? It's all at The Royal Hotel, Gympie every Friday and Saturday.

Each week is the Friday Afternoon Session starting at 5pm with live acoustic music by local acoustic bands including Lee T-Bone Turner, Split Nickel and the Millie Tizzard Duo. Relax and catch up with friends and workmates after work with some good music, great meals, snacks and specials.

Rascal's Restaurant has fantastic Steakhouse and a-la-carte menus with meals starting at just $10.95, Rosco's Sports Bar offers a great bar menu and nibblies platters and the Lounge Bar has excellent cocktails. Have some drinks and something to eat and then enjoy the great music in Rosco's Sports Bar. Check below for when the next live band is performing.
